Duality vs BrightLocal: which one suits your client reports?

BrightLocal is built for local businesses and their listings. Duality is built for the report you send a client. Here is what each does well.

The short version

We make Duality, so we are not neutral. We have kept to facts BrightLocal publishes itself, and we say where it does more than we do.

BrightLocal suits you if

  • Your clients are local businesses and the map pack matters most.
  • You manage business listings, citations and reviews across many directories.
  • You want to follow up to four competitors for each location.

Duality suits you if

  • You send clients a report and want it to look like yours, not ours.
  • You want to choose what your client sees first: clicks, page one keywords, page speed or something else.
  • You want rankings, Search Console, Analytics and a Site Audit in one place.
  • You want to walk into a client meeting knowing every figure is right.

A white label report that is really yours

Each site gets a private share link with no Duality name, logo or menus. You decide how it looks and what it leads with.

Your branding

Add your logo and business details, once for one site or for all of them. The link stays the same and always opens the newest report.

Lead with what matters to the client

Pick the three headline tiles for each site: clicks, impressions, sessions, keywords on page one, average position, desktop or mobile speed and more. Move the sections or switch them off. The share link follows.

A colour style to match

Five styles for the report: Default, Mono (prints well in black and white), Modern, Warm and Dark, which suits a screen in a client call.

Settings for one site: three drop-downs choose the headline tiles, five sections can be moved or hidden, and five colour styles are shown as small previews
A shared report with only the site's name at the top, its rankings and traffic, and no menus or branding

Figures you can stand behind

Rankings checked again

Google sometimes returns a broken results page that hides a site that really ranks. When a keyword that ranked last time goes missing, or shows on one device but not the other, Duality checks it again before the report goes out.

Add or edit a figure yourself

If a number is missing or you have a better one, type it in for any finished week or month. It shows on the dashboard, the share link, exports and emails, and ours is kept so you can put it back.

Your client sees clean numbers

Edited figures are marked for you in the dashboard, never on the share link. Go into the meeting prepared and send the report with confidence.

What each costs

BrightLocal prices by location and plan. Duality prices by number of sites. BrightLocal's figures are its monthly-billed US dollar prices for its Track plan.

What you trackDuality, a monthBrightLocal Track, a month
1 siteLite: £9$12 plus VAT. 1 site, 30 keywords.$41 for 1 location
3 sitesPro: £24$29 plus VAT. 3 sites, 60 keywords each.$62 for 2 to 5 locations
10 sitesScale: £59$75 plus VAT. 10 sites, 100 keywords each.$83 for 6 to 10 locations
20 sitesMax: £119$149 plus VAT. 20 sites, 125 keywords each.$104 for 11 to 20 locations

Duality prices exclude VAT. BrightLocal shows lower prices when billed annually, and its Manage and Grow plans cost more. Its page doesn't say whether tax is included.

What Duality doesn't do

If any of these matter to you, BrightLocal may be the better fit.

No listings or reviews

Duality doesn't manage citations, directory listings or reviews.

No competitor tracking

You can't follow a rival's rankings. The Keyword Research add-on can look up one competitor's keywords as a single search.

Top 30, not a map grid

Rankings are checked down to position 30, in English, for the country or city you choose.

Duality vs BrightLocal questions

Is Duality a BrightLocal alternative?

For tracking rankings and sending clients a white label report, yes. For listings, citations and reviews, BrightLocal does things Duality doesn't.

Can I choose what my client sees first?

Yes. For each site you pick the three headline tiles, such as clicks, keywords on page one or mobile speed, and you can move or hide the sections. The share link shows the same layout.

What happens if a ranking looks wrong?

Duality already checks again when a keyword that ranked goes missing. If a figure is still not right, you can type your own for that week or month, and put ours back at any time.

Will my client know a figure was edited?

No. The marker shows only in your own dashboard, not on the share link.

Where do the BrightLocal figures come from?

From BrightLocal's own pricing page, read on 21 October 2026. We are not connected to BrightLocal. BrightLocal is a trademark of its owner, used here only to name the product. If something is out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
